About PMO Edge.
Welcome to PMO Edge.
I started this site because I’ve seen firsthand how much confusion there is around Project Management Offices (PMOs). Some organizations love them, others roll their eyes at the mention of them. Too often, PMOs are seen as bureaucratic, slow, or disconnected from real business needs.
But here’s the truth: when designed and run well, a PMO can be one of the most powerful levers an organization has to connect strategy with execution. A good PMO doesn’t just track projects, it helps people make better decisions, deliver outcomes faster, and create the kind of visibility leaders can trust.
Over the years, I have worked across government, healthcare, and enterprise IT programs in messy, high-stakes environments. I have led large modernization efforts, built governance frameworks from the ground up, and supported teams that had to deliver under pressure. Along the way, I learned what works, what doesn’t, and how to strike the right balance between structure and flexibility.
That is what I want to share here.
PMO Edge is not about theory or academic models. It is about practical insights, lessons learned, and tools you can use right away. My goal is to make PMOs approachable, useful, and tailored to the realities organizations face today.
Through this blog, I’ll share:
Best practices for standing up a PMO that lasts
Ideas for creating governance that supports, not hinders
Templates and tools that make life easier for teams
Reflections on how PMOs can evolve to stay relevant in a changing business and technology landscape
I hope PMO Edge gives you a fresh perspective and a few ideas you can take back to your own organization.
